The Holy Spirit

1Co 14:20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

We’ve been saying that the Holy Spirit is one of the Godhead, and is the same as God in a way that we, in our finite minds can’t understand. We explain, “I’m a son, but I’m also a father: I’m also a husband . . .”

But, if we pay attention to what the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit, we can remove the childish mysticism, and understand who He is, and what is His role in our faith in God.

λοìγος
logos
log'-os
From G3004; something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is, Christ)

[Look at my study, “The Difference Between Rhema and Logos”]

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word(Logos), and the Word(Logos) was with God, and the Word(Logos) was God.
Joh 1:2 The same(that is the Word--Logos) was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him(the Word--Logos); and without him(the Word--Logos) was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him(the Word--Logos) was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:10 He(the Word--Logos) was in the world, and the world was made by him(the Word--Logos), and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word(Logos) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So, we see that
The Word is God(vs. 1),
The Word is Yahoshua(vs. 14),
The Word is the Holy Spirit(Logos).

They are not just in agreement,
They are not just united,
They are the SAME.

The Holy Spirit speaks to us, truth(Joh 15:26),
He glorifies Yahoshua HaMashiach(Joh 16:14),
He imparts to us, wisdom, knowledge, and faith(I Cor 12).
He teaches us how to discern spirits(I Joh 4:1).
All of this also can be said of the Word of God, who is the SAME.

The Holy Spirit is NEVER wrong, and only those who disregard the Word of God can “miss” the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit (the Word of God) teaches you and me the same truth; it’s NEVER different.

Feelings are of the flesh. Our feelings are different (different strokes for different folks). The Holy Spirit does not override His Word by giving you a feeling. The Word of God does not depend on the leading of the spirit(your feelings). You override your feelings by understanding the Word of God.

A good feeling comes when you think you’re in line with God’s will. A bad feeling comes when your theology is challenged, thereby ending the bliss of ignorance(We, all don’t like that).

If you submit to God, you submit to His Word (the SAME).

Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The Word of God is quick. “Quick” does not mean fast.

ζαìω
zaō
dzah'-o
A primary verb; to live (literally or figuratively)

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick(ALIVE), and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The same can be said of the Holy Spirit, who is the SAME as God.

So, the Holy Spirit is the Word of God, and the Word of God is how He guides us into all truth.

In the name of Yahoshua HaMashiach, and in His love,
Wesley, nobody, but His servant.
