What I Teach

Joh 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Joh 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

1Co 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

God teaches us by the Holy Spirit, The Word of God. In the spirit, we know in part and prophesy in part. God’s Word is true and perfect, but we have a tendency to miss God from time to time (You know that‘s right). God’s Word is truth, but we, humans are subject to impairments of the flesh. So, the place to find the truth is in the Word of God, not the inner witness. So, pray, and ask God for understanding of His Word, and he will guide us:

  1. Go to www.e-sword.net, and download the KJV+, and HOT+(Hebrew Old Testament), and GNT (Greek New Testament). The software is free, and not to be sold. E-sword (copyright © 2000--2009 Rick Myers, All rights reserved worldwide) makes it easy to look up the original Hebrew or Greek words. There’s no need to have a stack of Reference books when there is this easy-to-use Bible study resource. So then, having a computer program that enables looking up a particular subject, and linking to the lexicon for the definition of words, we can know what the text actually means. It’s fast and easy.
  2. Open E-sword,
  3. Click on the KJV+(King James Version with Strong’s Numbers),
  4. Ask a question, Hit <ctrl + S> to search,
  5. Type in the terms in the search box, and hit Enter . . . A list of scriptures appears.
  6. Click-click on the first one that seems relevant.
  7. Hover the mouse pointer over the number next to the word in question(click on it, and it will appear in the Dictionary box),
  8. Read the actual Hebrew or Greek definition,
  9. Beware of plain English words that you thought you knew they meant. Humbly, get an English Dictionary, and use it when you think you don’t need to.
  10. Don’t skip over the technical terms (like “irregular plural”, and “primitive particle, and such). Look them up on the Internet, and see what they mean.
  11. Apply it to the text.
  12. Next is to face up to the truth, and get in line with it, without regard to the teaching of the church, or pervasive expectations. Our authority comes from God, and God’s Word is found by studying the Bible--not “tried and proven” tradition.

The Word of God comes to us through four filters--
1. The original inspired man’s understanding (to a lesser degree),
2. the strict copies by scribes,
3. the translators, in fear of King James, and
4. modern day “feel-good”, or unlearned, or denominational (a paycheck at stake) Bible teachers.

Let’s go with the original language left to us by the scribes. The Strong’s numbers refer to the text in these documents. When you’re guided by men to understand the Word of God, it’s like eating fish: you eat the meat and spit out the bones. Be wary of doctrinal dogma interjected with the basic definition of the Greek or Hebrew word.

Bones to Spit Out--
Religious commentary interjected in the descriptive terms of the definitions.

Example--The Word of God teaches us that the "logos", with the definite article, "THE", is the Holy Spirit (John 1:1, Gen 1:2), but that's not the definition of the Greek word, "Logos".

But Strong says that the Greek word, "logos", means specifically the "Divine Expression".

Apparently "logos" is also a cause--
Mat 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the causeG3056 of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

--------------
G3056
λοìγος
logos
log'-os
From G3004; something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is, Christ): - account, cause, communication, X concerning, doctrine, fame, X have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say (-ing), shew, X speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work.

Also, look at the Greek word for "baptize".

Remember: Love rejoices in the truth. If we see that our old way is error, and there comes the study and discovery of the truth, then we should be happy that we found a way to move forward to glory, and not hold on to the old way that brought us to such fragmentation in the church.

And, as always, if I'm wrong about anything, I need to be corrected by the Word of God, not just cryptic warnings in the spirit.
