Honor

Exo 20:12 HonourH3513 (H853) thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

(You honour thy father and mother)

Mat 15:4 For God commanded, saying, HonourG5091 thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

Exo 14:17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour H3513 upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

(I will lay a burden upon Pharaoh.)

Lev 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respectH5375 the person of the poor, nor honourH1921 the person of the mighty: but in righteousnessH6664 shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

(Do not lift up the person of the poor, nor favour the person of the mighty, but be fair.)

2Ch 17:5 Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honourH3519 in abundance.

(What did he have? Honour--weight)

Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honourG5092 to whom honourG5092.

(Pay money to whom money is due.)

Check that out and see if it’s right.

1Co 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourableG820, upon these we bestow more abundant honourG5092(money paid); and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

1Co 12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honourG5092(money paid) to that part which lacked:

1Co 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

1Co 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honouredG1392, all the members rejoice with it.

We give money to the poor in the church, so that everyone is cared for. Look at this:

Act 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

Act 4:35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Study it carefully and prayerfully. Are the two passages talking about the same thing? Is there LOVE in the church, or is it different in America?

1Ti 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of doubleG1362 honourG5092(money paid), especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

What does “double” mean?

So, from this exegetic study if the Word of God, “honor” means to pay money to those whom money is due: taxes, debtors, the poor, and laborers in the Word. And “honor” also means to value, prize, and esteem highly.

Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honourG5092 unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Heb 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honourG5092, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Heb 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honourG5092 than the house.

1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honourG5092 and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honourG5092 and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

As always, I am open to correction, if my teaching turns to be selective. Is this teaching right? We should rejoice in the truth, and align our doctrine according to it for the Glory of Yehovah.
