Forgive

ForgiveG863

ἀφίημι

aphiēmi

af-ee'-ay-mee

From G575 and ἵημι hiēmi (to send; an intensive form of εἶμι eimi (to go)); to send forth, in various applications: - cry, forgive, forsake, lay aside, leave, let (alone, be, go, have), omit, put (send) away, remit, suffer, yield up.

The object of forgiveness is not a person.

The object of forgiveness is the trespass.

When we forgive, we’re not forgiving the person, we’re forgiving the wrong that was done. Is that right? Look how the word, “afeeaymee” is used in a few verses. The word means to let something go.

Let it Be?

Mat 6:12 And forgiveG863 us our debts, as we forgiveG863 our debtors.

Mat 4:20 And they straightway leftG863 their nets, and followed him.

Mat 13:30 LetG863 both grow together until the harvest . . .

Mar 10:14 . . . SufferG863 the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
